BORDERS (Part II)

With this second edition of BORDERS, we look closely at systems that divide society through structures of racism, incarceration, property ownership, and nationalism. These culturally and state enforced forms of control are approached by the selected artists DREAD SCOTT, KATIE YAMASAKI, SARA BENNETT with clarity, conceptual rigor, and emotional depth. Their images and actions unveil systems of oppression while dignifying and humanizing the people whose autonomy is most at risk. They seek to examine, redefine, and annihilate these boundaries, to find a borderless state.
